About the Dafydd Lewis Trust
The Dafydd Lewis Trust was founded in 1943, providing boys with a chance at higher education through funding.
Sixty years later, the same trustees founded the Mary Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation, with many Dafydd Lewis Trust Scholars more than happy to give back and set up a new trust fund to provide the same opportunity to girls.
As a young girl growing up on a farm, I dreamt of nothing but becoming a geologist. Despite working hard at school, and achieving good marks, my future was not assured. The financial assistance I have received from the Mary Jane Lewis Foundation has allowed me to maintain high academic standards and pursue unpaid opportunities to develop my professional, practical and leadership skills.
